1. 是STEM专业本科及以上学历毕业生。不清楚自己的专业是否为STEM的同学，可以联系学校的国际学生办公室询问。
2. 目前处于post-completion OPT期间，也就是第一年初始OPT期间。
3. 雇主必须加入并且正在使用E-Verify系统。
4. 每周工作不得少于20小时，工作与所学专业相关且有工资。
- 申请24个月OPT延期的申请程序：
学生首先要向学校提交一份I-983表格，也就是Training Plan。在这个表格中，需要与你的雇主一起制定关于你的详细工作计划，讲述清楚你的工作内容与STEM专业的相关性，你将如何在这个岗位学到新工作技能，以及你的雇主如何考评你的工作表现。提交了Training Plan后，接下来就是等学校给你换发新的I-20表格。等你拿到新换发的新I-20时，就可以向移民局USCIS申请24个月的OPT延期了。
